This page explains what information Automated Boating Solutions collects when you use automatedboatingsolutions.com or buy from us, what we do with it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
When you place an order or send us a form, we collect:
- your name
- your billing address and shipping address
- your email address
- your phone number
- what you ordered, or what you wrote in the form
We only collect this when you place an order or submit a form. You do not need an account to buy from us.
Like most websites, our web server also keeps a short technical record of each visit (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested). We use it only to keep the site running and secure.
Your card details
When you pay by card, you type your card details into a secure field supplied by our payment provider. Your card number and security code go straight to the payment provider. We never see, handle or store your card number. The payment provider tells us only the card type, the last four digits and the expiry date, so that we can match the payment to your order.
What we use it for
- to fulfill your order and ship it to you
- to work out and record sales tax
- to contact you about your order
- to register your product to you and to support any warranty claim
- to answer questions you send us through a form, by email or by phone
Who we share it with
We share only what each one needs to do its job:
- Our payment provider, to take your payment.
- The shipping carrier, to deliver your order.
- Boat Innovations, the manufacturer, to register the product to you and to handle warranty claims, returns and claims for damage in transit.
- Our sales-tax calculation service, which receives your delivery address and order total to work out the correct sales tax.
- The companies that host our website and send our email, which store and send information for us and may not use it for anything else.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
We may also share information if the law requires us to.
Cookies
The cart and checkout use cookies so the site can remember what is in your cart while you shop. The store does not work without them.
Our forms and checkout also use a spam-protection service that checks a real person is filling them in. It may set its own cookie and look at technical information about your browser and device for that purpose only. The payment provider’s card field may do the same to prevent fraud.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as tax and business-record laws require, and for as long as your product’s warranty runs, whichever is longer. We keep messages sent through our forms for as long as we need them to answer you.
Your choices
You can email us at info@automatedboatingsolutions.com at any time to:
- ask what information we hold about you
- ask for a copy of it
- ask us to delete it
If we have to keep some records by law (for example, tax records of a sale), we will tell you which ones and delete the rest.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
